Placing an order
Will I receive an order confirmation via e-mail?
Yes, you will receive an e-mail confirmation within 24 hours. This does not mean your order has been accepted by us. Once your credit has been approved, the receiving address has been verified, and the item has been located, your order will be accepted. We will then notify you when we will ship the order and the item will be shipped. You will receive another e-mail notifying you if any of the items you ordered are not in stock.
Do I need to be over 18 to buy wine?
Yes! Please note that is against the law for anyone under 18 to buy alcohol. NO COWS will always check the age of their customers when you register and will not sell to under 18's.
When you place an order for alcohol with NO COWS, you are confirming that you are at least 18 years old and that you will not provide alcohol to be consumed by anyone under the age of 18.
What if I do not receive an order confirmation via e-mail?
You will receive an order confirmation message via e-mail shortly after we receive your order. If you do not receive this message within an hour of placing your order do contact us.
How can I check the status of an order placed online?
You can check on the status of your order by logging in to MY ACCOUNT. You will need to type in your email addressand account password. You can also email us at info@nocows.com
Can I order by telephone or fax?
Not at the moment you need to place your order online via the NO COWS website.
Can orders be shipped outside the UK?
Not right now, but if you really want us to then please call or email us and we can look into this for you.
Can I cancel an order?
It is possible to cancel an order but only if it has not already been shipped. Please contact us and we will be able to confirm if this is possible.
How can I pay for my order?
We accept all major credit cards including: Visa, MasterCard and American Express. We also accept personal and banker's cheques and money orders but we will need to wait for the cheque to clear before we process the order so this may delay shipment.
How much will I be charged for shipping?
We charge £4.95 for shipping, regardless of how much you order, for orders except those containing WINE. As you can imagine, wine is much heavier and therefore costs more to ship, so orders containing wine carry a postage charge of £8.95. This is for one delivery to one address.
Can you deliver to an alternative address?
Yes we can, you have the option to add a different address when you check out.
Do you provide gift wrapping sevices?
No, not yet. Let us know though if you would like us to.
Are my payment details secure?
Yes! You will see https in you web browser whilst you are entering your credit card details. This denotes a secure socket layer environment, so your details are encrypted. For your security, we authorise your credit card after we obtain confirmation that your card is valid and has not been reported lost or stolen.
It is not uncommon for a credit card authorisation to fail. If we experience this with your credit card, we will contact you so that you have the opportunity to provide another credit card.
NOTE: Any information sent via email is not encrypted, so please do not transmit your credit card number by email. Use only our site's checkout process to send your credit card information to us.
How quickly do you deliver?
We aim to deliver as quickly as possible, this should be within 3-5 working days. If due to unforseen circumstances delivery time will be longer we will contact you.
Is there a minimum order for wine?
Yes, you need to order at least 12 bottles of wine, excuse for a party!?

Will you share my personal information?
We will never share your personal information with third parties, but may contact you from time to time with information about NO COWS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We respect the privacy rights of our customers and understand the importance of protecting the information collected about you.
In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, NO COWS follows security procedures in the storage and disclosure of your information to prevent unauthorised access. Personal information provided by you will include your name, email address and information provided by Cookies. NO COWS does not sell, trade or rent your personal information.
We will use this information to make the site easier for you to use and help us deliver information most relevant to you. By using the NO COWS website you consent to us using your personal information for the above activity.

How do I know the products you sell are 100% vegan?
We consult with all our manufacturers and suppliers to ensure their products do not contain any animal ingredients or are tested on animals. All are products have been accredited by the Vegan Society. For further information on what this means please go to our news section.

Why should I bother buying organic cotton towels?
You may (like us before we learnt about the subject) think that organic cotton is just a posh fad for fussy, rich types but actually, if you buy organic cotton, you are taking a really positive environmental step. There's much more to being environmentally conscious and proactive than using our council recycling bins. Firstly, let’s look at organic cotton from a consumer health perspective. Around a quarter of the worlds pesticides are used in the production of non-organic cotton. By using non-organic cotton, your skin is not exposed to harmful chemical residues that may appear in conventional cotton items. Secondly, the environmental issues around cotton are very serious. The conventional cotton industry is one of the world's most toxic, affecting the immediate environment and the workers within it. Farmers working in the conventional cotton farming sector are exposed to harmful levels of toxic chemicals whereas those working in the organic farming sector are not. Buying organic cotton shows you care about the well-being of the people who made the goods for your use. Buying organic cotton supports workers in the sector which is still relatively small and therefore vulnerable compared with the conventional cotton sector.
What is organic vegan wine? Surely wine is just wine?
Let’s tackle the vegan bit first. We believe that if you want a glass of wine, you should have the choice to buy wine pure and simple, made from grapes, and only grapes. What you don’t want, and nor do we, is wine plus a range of animal-derived byproducts added. The wine production process involves fining which clarifies the wine and improves its condition, appearance, etc. Unfortunately, most high-street wines have been fined using animal byproducts such as Casein (Milk Protein), Gelatin (jelly made from boiling animal tissue and bones) and Isinglass (derived from fish bladders). NO COWS wines are proudly free of such unnecessary ingredients, so buying from us gives you that peace of mind too.
Now the organic bit..Our wines are organic because they have been produced without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides used in non-organic wine production. We believe a better quality wine is the result, which tastes great.
Recently introduced legislation demands that all wines labels must state if the wine contains sulphites, but unfortunately, not to what level. High levels of sulphites in wine have been linked with the hangover effect as they act as a toxin in the body. EU organic wine production guidelines reduces the level of sulphites allowed by a third of the normal amount. Take care, though, our wines are alcoholic, so we are not saying you will never get a hangover from them! Finally, all of our wines taste really great and have been specially selected as ‘winner’s by NO COWS. They are so nice in fact that some of our early stock went missing before we even had time to take their photos. (We're saying nothing and trying to look innocent..)
Why do you sell soy wax candles and what are these exactly?
Our candles are from soy wax as opposed to beeswax, which is an animal byproduct, so are suitable for vegans, nor has any animal testing taken place in their production. Many high-street candles are made from paraffin. Paraffin is a byproduct from the fossil fuel industry and is therefore not environmentally friendly. The smoke from paraffin candles emits harmful toxic fumes into your environment. Our soy wax candles are from non GM(genetically modified) soy wax and unlike many conventional candles, do not leave a black smokey trace on furniture nor do they emit unpleasant smoke when lit. We are proud that our candles were produced in the UK and we think that once you try soy wax candles, you'll never use lower quality candles again.
How long do your candles burn for?
Soy wax candles burn on average 30% longer than the equivalent paraffin wax candle of the same size and type. Unlike some other lower quality candles, soy wax ones can be burned all the way to the bottom of the containers and the glass votives can be washed out afterwards and recycled. Any accidental wax spillages can be easily cleaned with soap and water.
Our votives burn for between 24-27 hours and the tea lights burn for between 4-5 hours each.
I am allergic to perfume, do you have any unscented cosmetics?
Yes, please see the NO COWS Unscented Skincare range which is free from perfume and colours and uses Extract of Chamomile, Witch Hazel, Cocoa Butter and Almond Oil to work gently but effectively on the skin. The range contains the following; Cleanser, Toner, Day Cream, Night Cream, Eye Gel, Lip Balm and Body Lotion.
What is the shelf life of the NO COWS cosmetics?
We recommend the following:
Creams - use within 12 months of purchase
All Others - use within 18 months of purchase

Can you give me some safety tips on candles?
BURNING INSTRUCTIONS
Never leave burning candles unattended. For best results burn for one hour per inch of diameter. Burn candles only in or on a suitable container or holder and always keep away from flammable materials or objects. Keep wicks trimmed to 6mm maximum. Do not allow debris to fall into the wax pool. Keep your candles out of draughts. NEVER try to move a burning candle or one that contains molten wax. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Use caution when extinguishing a candle.
